Insightful, Thought provoking, A GREAT READ

Kelly Christofferson – “I normally do not enjoy reading, however this book kept you on the edge of your seat, as the truths about life kept leaping off the pages. I highly recommend this book; it may be a revelation to societal manipulation, greed, and unfulfilled promises. Even if you sometimes question , what you see and hear, quit possibly your being manipulated. If you value materialistic things over humans, this will also be an informative read for you as the “Madman” is all about greed and wrong doings. I recommend this to my 19 year old daughter , now she is borrowing the book. My favorite lines in the whole book are “Embrace the fact that we are all creations of this amazing earth, and we all have something to learn from one another “ and’” Does anyone hold the key to your insecurity box and separate you from everything you care about?” Read the book, you will not regret it.”

Lana Abu Ayyash – “This is not a book you can skim through or read absent-mindedly. , There is no fluff just to make it lengthier, It is thought-provoking, and intense without being complicated or vague. An intriguing critique of modernity, without the tone of anger and moral superiority you find in similar books.  A freedom manifesto, a call for reason and taking back our human dignity and power, no agendas, no demonization of certain groups or ideologies, a sanity wake-up call we all need no matter who/ where. I highly recommend this book and I look forward to seeing more work from this talented philosopher/ writer. Thank you “

C. Fuller – “Very on target for today’s world, she gives voice to that sense of desperation we all have inside, thinking “what the he’ll is going on?” The absurdity of life sometimes can be overwhelming and this books helped me to remember to listen within.”

Hamit – “An utterly simple eye opener! The writer reminds us that humanity has been holding on to a twisted world and she emphasizes the reality; humanity is just us. It’s up to the individuals to figure out what’s going on and respond accordingly. Annoyingly true, downright striking…”

George – “It says the truth of a new era ..must read for anyone.”

Renn – “A must read for anyone who feels uncomfortable in the machine that is modern society. Made me ask some questions about how I go about my day, and what I do out of habit and boredom, might be symptoms of the social structure and not normal.. even though we are conditioned to think otherwise.”

R – “For anyone who loves philosophical discussions on society, social structures, or just wants to dig deeper for meaning, this book is definitely worth your time.”

Skye – “This is an authentic and clear account of current major sociopolitical forces, written in poetic prose by an intelligent, creative, articulate observer. The author sees the forest for the trees, names the monster lurking there, and reminds us we do not need nurture it. This was also an entertaining & relatively quick read, leaving me feeling: Yes! Write on, Ms. Kus!!”

U. Yıldız. – “An interesting perspective on the challenges that we take on. The book is highly readable and an immense provocation. It must be read, whether or not you are particularly interested in modern man’s life, its history, its challenges or its future. I can’t repeat myself often enough. Its an absolute mandatory read. No question about it.”

Hadi – “The writer discusses a topic that most people already know (more or less)… BUT, the way that it is described and explained sheds a light on a side that very few notice, which moves the reader on an entirely new level of awareness of the subject… the book gives a new perspective on life “in the system” and how to resist…”

Saha – “Consumerism eats the core of humanism- The matter is very interesting. Particularly in the present moment of crass consumersim. The short sentence style of writing is sometimes not effective. However,a technologist writing on such matter-you should read it.”

Shilpee – “Compelling account of where and how we’re progressing to a world that’s ‘supposedly’ better. Provokes you to think – is the chaos an inescapable societal imposition, or is the chaos of productivity and progress self-created? Good read.”

Melis – “The author asks very critical questions that most of us even fear to think about. It helps you to see the big picture and reminds you the dreams you had before getting into the very center of the world rushed in. I would absolutely suggest this book to the ones that are exhausted with the so-called “challenges” of everyday life.”

Julia – “Madness Overrated is a book that is also the life lesson everyone needs. I would highly recommend buying this book because it teaches you how to look at the world from above. Maybe you are wondering why your life isn’t as great as you’d like it to be. Madness Overrated is the book that will show you factors in your life that could be taking life away from you. This book is very detailed with information about what it is like to be constantly working, moving, pushing, and feeding into society. Being able to identify these issues is what the author does for you. The author even shows you ways to escape the burdens of life that are upon you. Overall, this book is short and sweet and makes perfect sense to anyone in any walk of life. The most important take on this book is to be able to identify how you can make your life better.”

Karen – “Madness Overrated sets you on a journey through your life to review how you have performed and contributed thus far to humanity and our beautiful World.  It is written by the hand of a brilliant scientist with clean, clearly detailed chapters that offer you a chance to rethink your actions and place in society. This exciting, challenging book gives you the chance to fly with Kuş on her perceptive whistle stop tour of Consumerism at its worst. I really felt so empowered by the end of this book, as it hits you between the eyes with a series of truths and realisations. “Madness Overrated is all you need to wake up, be strong and feel the force.””

Burcu – “I would recommend reading this book to every adult, to make them realize how easily we get lost in daily routines. How easily we lose control of our lives, and our precious time in this world. This book is definitely eye opening to shake the Mad Man’s World that we live in and to get us out of there. I also find the book very constructive in setting pathways to get control of our lives, have a healthy balance, make peace within and with our surroundings, and be content and happy in this very present. Thank you Esra Kuş for writing this book!”

Mark – “The book does an outstanding job in raising awareness of the shortcomings and distractions in our overly “busy” lives; some things you surely think of as straight forward, others however, clearly show what profound and out-of-the-box thinking has been invested by the writer to discover, question, and clearly lay the issues out for us in plain language. Confronted with this truth, it is up to us to make the changes! Loved the genuine advice and the questions that make me look closely at my own life and value system. The latter section is particularly warm and inspiring as it gives guidance for change. Worth reading again!”

S.K. – “Madness Overrated is credited as the author’s first book and it shows clearly, how much this subject was of concern to her. It is a very thoughtful, concise book and no space is wasted as the observations and views on our lives are concentrated into a dense presentation. The subject of the book is life, and how it has been ‘lost’ and gotten out of touch with its true meaning in all the confusions created by a corporate, growth-obsessed world and a shallow, social media dominated personal space. It is intense and engaging, provocative and caring: like a dear friend’s earnest attempt to shake us out of our paralyzing dream, to help us break out of the shackles of submission into an illusion of what society tells us a “meaningful” life should look like. This is not a book you will just read in 3 or 4 hours. You would miss out on many opportunities to consider and reflect upon of what is said. At the same time, you cannot really pause for long either, as you are drawn into and just need to see where this all leads to and how you can redirect your life to focus on what makes perfect sense for you!!! I was drawn into the book and have been thinking about it and its implications for my own life many times since I first laid it down. I even bought two more copies for close friends as gifts as well!!!”

Sarah – “(Disclosure: I did the manuscript edit for this book.) I find the author’s observations of our Mad world and her view of what we can do about it stunning as she describes the lives we live in the “first world” and the quality of life that is forced upon us as we try to measure up to inhuman standards. You will recognize the many manipulations she unmasks, but the book made a big impact on me. It has a compelling rhythm that is almost poetic, it reads beautifully, and it has the potential to change lives. I do not write reviews for most of the books I edit, but this one stands out and deserves attention.”
